Eminent scientist - nuclear physics researcher, Corresponding member of Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir I. Mostovoy (b.1919) passed away on 18 October 1996 after stroke. He had a lot of important results in nuclear fission, in particular, in measuring fission cross-section for transuranium nuclides and isomeric nuclides, in resonance fission, in triple fission, in violation of parity in fission processes et cet. V.I.Mostovoy took part in 2 World War and had the highest combat award the Heroe of Soviet Union. He was permanent researcher of Kurchatov Institute .
